Can you believe August is almost over? In this final post of the month we want to share some of the new and woolly things that have been landing on the Baa shelves in preparation for ‘the night’s drawing in’ and the arrival of Autumn.
With each new season our suppliers tempt us with new colours, yarns and designs. And, despite Covid-19, temporary closure of mills and furloughed staff, the spinners and suppliers have 'pulled out all the stops' to bring us a fantastic collection for Autumn/Winter 20/21!
First to arrive on our shelves is a brand new double knit yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners.
'Croft Shetland DK' is 'little sister' to the very popular aran weight yarns 'Croft Shetland Colours' and 'Croft Shetland Tweed. The yarn has a distinct silky feel, comes in 100g skeins and despite being 100% Shetland Islands Wool, it is machine washable!
Baa has selected 6 solid shades and 3 complementary tweeds from the Croft Shetland Dk colour palette. Have a flick through our slider below to check them out...
If you like the yarn but need some knitting inspiration, 'The Croft Dk Collection - Book 1' has been published specifically for the new yarn. Designers are Sarah Hatton and Rosee Woodland.
And finally, the Baa Bookshelf has been updated with an extensive range of books from Kate Davies Designs. Each publication has been updated on the website to include available project images. So, now you can even see 'what's inside'!
Next weeks blog post will feature the launch of the Rowan Autumn/Winter 20/21 Collection. Our Zoom knit group members were lucky enough to have a sneaky preview on Friday 28th August, which resulted in quite a few pre-orders!
Rowan Magazine 68 will be on sale at Baa from Tuesday 1st September. It is packed with beautiful photography, garment, homeware & accessory designs from Rowan favourites such as Lisa Richardson, Martin Storey, Erika Knight, Georgia Farrell and Arne & Carlos.
And thats it for this week folks, hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, see you next time!
