For those of you who know me well... the title of this 'all important' post could be an Anderson family motto which applies to more than one member of the clan! What can I say? The last blog post was 21st December. It is now February 2nd and my plans for regular posts seemed to disappear along with 2017! It seems opening a shop is all consuming! Please accept my apologies and stay with me as I fill you in as quickly as possible.
If you have been keeping up with progress on Facebook and Instagram you will have seen many pictures over the last month. Including the filling of the Woolly Hamper ready for the opening day prize draw. For those who have missed out, here are a few shots to give you an indication of what has been going on here in Stonehaven.
On January 3rd, 2018 I received the keys to Baa! My new landlord left me a very nice surprise and a very appropriate card!
Next came the makeover! With lot's of help from extra special friends. (Trish - Bestie since school!)
Edith is also a dab hand with a paint brush!
And Harold the joiner, who put down our lovely new floor...
Then came the window graphics, sign and a big 'Thank you' to David Bell of '49 design' and also Loftus for their great service.
My papering skills were put into action when my woolly wallpaper arrived, and I love it SO much!
And now for the stock... Lot's and lot's of lovely wool...Eden Cottage, Jamieson's of Shetland, John Arbon, Fyberspates, Baa Ram Ewe... selling this yarn will feel like selling my children!
As for the Woolly Hamper, much squishiness has gone into the empty basket over the last 12 days.
Now it looks like this... And there is still more to go in!
We have a great day planned for the opening day party. Our doors will be officially opened at 11am by Eva Christie, Director of Perth Festival of Yarn. Hand spinning demonstrations by Lindsay Shaw of Lindsay's Handspun Yarn's will take place between 11am-1pm and 3pm-5pm. Helena Wilton will be showing off her skills in the art of Fimo clay modelling throughout the day and our lovely knit group experts Ragnhild and Dorothy will be there to chat and demonstrate their knitting and crocheting skills.
Well folks, I am running on caffeine at the moment and still have much to do so will pop off now and wish you all luck in the Woolly Hamper Prize Draw which will take place at 4pm on Saturday... TOMORROW!!!!!!! Aah!!!!!
If you can make it for a wee visit it will be great to see you x
Wish me luck!
