The last few weeks have been a whizz of activity and I am struggling to believe it is just little more than six weeks until Baa! officially opens. As time escapes me I am afraid I have been adding things to the website without letting you know….
My last post ‘traditionally’ ended with a source clue to Baa’s next delivery but if you have peeked at the website over the past couple of weeks you may already have noticed some rather lovely additions to the online shop. As well as books and workshops we now have yarn…
The first is Milburn 4ply, a luxurious blend of 85% Bluefaced Leiceister and 15% silk, it has travelled to Stonehaven from Eden Cottage Yarns who are based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire. The colours are glorious and I am SO desperate to cast-on! We have 10 colours in stock, deciding on one is tricky but 'Night Sky' (below) is definitely a favourite...
You can read a little more about Eden Cottage Yarns and Milburn 4ply here.
The second yarn to make an appearance is Dovestone Dk from Baa Ram Ewe in Chapel Allerton, Leeds. This yarn embraces the Bluefaced Leiceister, Wensleydale Longwool and Dark Brown Masham sheep, it is this unique mix of fibre that gives Dovestone its distinctive feel and depth of colour. Just look at Rhubarb! There are 2 books dedicated to Dovestone Dk, you will find them both here.

The Workshop page is also beginning to blossom with knitting, crochet and craft classes, all available to purchase online. If you wish to gift a workshop, leave a note containing the recipients name and any message you wish to be included, in the box provided at the checkout. Then, to receive a personalised gift voucher let us know whether you wish your voucher to be emailed to you, or posted directly to the recipient.
And now for a little competition…
As you can see from the map opposite our 375 hour round trip from Stonehaven took us to Eden Cottage Yarns in Wetherby and then to Baa Ram Ewe in Leeds.
Any guesses as to who we found in Keighley, Bradford?
Lynton, North Devon?
And, the Lake District?
(There are 2 pretty serious clues in the Baa online shop!)

And now I will leave you folks. This will be the last blog post of 2017, but until then you can keep up with Baa! via Facebook and Instagram.
