Come and learn the basics of amigurumi - the Japanese art of crocheted toys. In this class we will cover the key techniques you will need to make your own toys - including choosing your hook size, the magic ring, working in a spiral, invisible decreases and finishing your work. We will also discuss how to make your amigurumi child safe.
We will be following a lovely Unicorn pattern by Monica Miszczuk, part of the Scheepjes "Yarn: The After Party" series. The unicorn is 28cm high, and is detailed with contrasting hooves, mane and horn.
We will begin by making the unicorn's legs, covering all the main amigurumi techniques and you will finish your unicorn at home. This class is supported by a closed Facebook group, which offers online after-class support, where you can post your progress or seek advice as your project continues.
This class is suitable for anyone who can confidently crochet UK double crochet stitches with an even tension.
Beautiful Scheepjes Catona yarn, stuffing and the pattern are included in the course fee, though bring your preferred 2.5mm hook if you have one. Light refreshments are included.
