An introduction to Mosaic Crochet with Fiona Meade
This class will introduce you to mosaic crochet. Mosaic crochet uses colour and texture to create beautiful geometric fabrics. You can use mosaic crochet for homewares, blankets, shawls and much more, but in this class we will be making gorgeous zipped purses. We will use a design by the acclaimed Icelandic designer Tinna Thórudóttir Thorvaldsdóttir to practise.
We will also discuss other methods of mosaic crochet, how to read mosaic crochet charts, and how to plan your own designs. You will also learn how to front and back loop crochet. The class fee includes two balls of Scheepjes Catona cotton yarn, two purse patterns and two zips.
This class is suitable for improving beginners and beyond. You must be able to confidently crochet UK double and treble crochet.

Born and raised in Ireland, Fiona has been crocheting for most of her life. She gained her love of all things crafty from her multi-talented mother and her grandmother, who owned her own craft shop. After learning the basics, she taught herself to read patterns and hasn't looked back! She loves working with new yarns and trying out new crochet techniques. When not crocheting or looking after her young daughter, Fiona is a geologist, and has spent the last 15 years studying the volcanoes of Ireland, Scotland and beyond! She enjoys teaching as much as she enjoys crocheting itself, and has set up Fiona Meade Crochet to turn her hobby into a small business. You can also find Fiona as FionaMeadeCrochet on Facebook.
