Learning how to finish your projects professionally is a skill that most knitters know little about. This workshop will introduce you to many tips and techniques that will help you produce finished garments to be proud of!


Techniques to be covered:  Understanding gauge and swatching, the benefits of blocking and how to do it, perfect seams using mattress stitch, achieving the best seam for shoulders, rib, garter stitch, and button bands. Plus, many more tips and techniques.


Class requirements: There will be homework!  An email with the homework instructions will be sent to you when you book.


Skill level: Beginner to advanced

  • Janice is an independent designer, workshop tutor and proprietor of Baa! After graduating from Grays School of Art (As it was called many years ago...) Janice worked as a freelance hand-knit designer until becoming a mum. The needles were put away while Janice dabbled in many different crafts until picking them up again to take on the role of Rowan Design Consultant in John Lewis, Aberdeen. Since then Janice has designed for Rowan, Herdy, Designer Yarns, Patons and publishes her work independently via Ravelry and Lovekniting. Baa is her latest challenge!
