We are very excited to introduce a new fibre art revival workshop; needle punching (or also called rug hooking). With new easy to use tools, “needle punching” is back and taking the craft world by storm. A faster alternative to traditional rug hooks and wool strips, the modern needle puncher now works with fun colourways and contemporary patterns. Join Mollie Makes featured fibre artist, Stephanie Fradette, as she shows you how to “paint” with yarn to create a textured hoop.
You will be taught how to transfer your rainbow design onto the backing, and how to use the needle punch tool to create texture and finishing techniques. This class is for complete beginners as it’s a very easy and relaxing craft. All materials and yarns will be provided for your use during the day, although if you get "hooked" and would like to explore this craft further, there will be an opportunity to purchase tools and materials after the class.
Rainbow Needle Punch Workshop with Le Petit Moose
Stephanie Fradette is a fibre artist based in Banchory and loves nothing more than to teach the addictive craft of frame-loom weaving to aspiring yarn addicts. She is inspired by geometric patterns, linear design, and contemporary colour combinations. Her Etsy shop; Le Petit Moose, is a nod to her French-Canadian roots and you'll find vintage-inspired flat weave textiles, knotted wares, and do-it-yourself kits.
