About the Pattern:
The Ritchie Shawl is a stunning accessory, with a wow! factor created by the mosaic Garter. It is NOT complicated to knit, and involves knitting with only ONE colour at a time. Mosaic is the effect created by striping the colours, and slipping stitches of the other colour. This Shawl is suitable for the adventurous beginner and intermediate knitter. You will need to know how to: increase, decrease, knit, purl, slip stitches, read a chart, cast on stitches (and knit from a backward loop cast-on). The shawl starts with the Garter tab technique, which is explained in the pattern.
“Ritchie is a parallelogram shaped wrap, knit seamlessly. It starts top-down and ends up bottom-up with no bind off! Combining innovative construction mosaic slipped stitch, texture and relaxing Garter, it is sure to please you on long fall evenings by the fire!
The pattern is easy to follow, including charts only for the mosaic sections. [...] Mosaic stitch uses only ONE color per row, resulting in stunning colorwork effects, win win!:)” - words by Jenny Faifel (aka SweaterFreak, designer)
