  • Along Avec Anna Merino 4ply meets the following standards:

REACH - The dyes used for the colors are APEO-free and meet REACH standards. “Green” alternatives are therefore used to dye our wools and real efforts are made by our spinning mill to reuse and save water during all the processes of creating the wool. A truly sustainable approach has therefore been put in place to preserve local and global resources.

OEKO-TEX - is a quality label comprising several technical standards, aimed at certifying the sanitary and ecological qualities of textiles and leather, guaranteeing the absence of toxic products for the body and the environment.

NON MULESING - Mulesing is a surgical technique for removing part of the perianal skin of sheep. This is a common practice in Australia as a means of reducing the incidence of fly larvae myiasis in Merino sheep. It is carried out at the time of shearing by breeders and is done without anesthesia. The sheep, on which it is practiced, do not benefit from any particular medical monitoring following the removal of this skin. If the operation does not degenerate into infection, it is generally estimated that the wound will heal in 2 or 3 weeks. The psychological trauma for the animal lasts a lifetime. The presence of certain labels, in particular the PETA Approved and PETA Cruelty Free labels but also labels more targeted on merino wool, including ZQ and RWS (Responsible Wool Standard), also guarantee animal welfare and therefore completely exclude the practice of Mulesing, which is the case with Anna's merino.
