Brioche... Should I eat it? Or, knit it?

If you make a trip to Stonehaven on Monday 29th May you can definitely do both.

We have a few places remaining on our Monday Brioche workshop with Carol Meldrum and we would love you to join us.

But, first let me give you some more information and a little inspiration. In other words, knitty reasons why you definitely need a trip to Baa!

  • Brioche knitting is a delightfully squishy, ribbed fabric which can be knitted in one or two colours. If you are tempted to join us on Monday 29th May, you will be in the knowledgeable hands of designer and tutor Carol Meldrum, who has been teaching all over the UK and beyond for probably more years than she would like me to mention 😁.

  • Learning new techniques opens up your knitty world to more exiting ideas. First you could start with something simple. The Brioche Starter Hat by Estonian designer Raina Kruse, is knitted in the round using two colour brioche stitch. The crown of the hat uses brioche decrease techniques to create the dramatic 'snowflake' top. All of theses techniques will be covered in our workshop, with Carol Meldrum. Raina has tons of gorgeous patterns available on Ravelry. So, if you get hooked on brioche, there is definitely no shortage of projects to undertake.

  • Once you get to grips with all things brioche. You might want to start something a little more complex. And, of course, at Baa we have lots of woolly, and delightfully squishy yarn which would be perfect for all your knitted brioche.

Shaping Up with Brioche will be held at Baa, 43 Evan Street, Stonehaven on Monday 29th May. The workshop will begin at 10.30am and end at 3.30pm. The cost for the full day is £60, and includes tuition, yarn, needles, light refreshments, and Brioche (The edible kind!) If you can knit and purl with ease you are welcome to join us. All you need to bring is, 'you', and packed lunch!
