Did we meet at Perth Festival of Yarn?

Updated: Jul 5, 2020

If we did, and you signed up to the Baa! website after reading our flyer… welcome back! It was lovely to meet you, and I hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did at The Auld Woolly Alliance stand.

And, now for my latest news. The clock is now officially ticking. It is 15 weeks until the doors of my wee shop are flung open to the public. The launch date has been put back a little but plans are already underway for our opening day party, scheduled for Saturday 3rd February 2018. Be sure to put the date in your diary!

On the day, we will announce the winner of the Woolly Hamper Prize Draw, there will be spinning and craft demonstrations, yarn-tastings (your chance to try out some of our gorgeous yarns, free of charge!), refreshments and some pretty amazing cake!

If you have not already done so, by subscribing to www.baawool.co.uk, you will automatically be entered into the Woolly Hamper Prize Draw, and receive regular news and updates as the birth of Baa! approaches. Final decisions are being made about the stock choices, orders confirmed, and very soon the first boxes of excitement will arrive at my door.

Here on the Baa! blog, I hope you will join me on my journey and, along the way, learn a little about the ethos of my business. As a passionate believer in the benefits of wool and natural fibres, my shop will specialise in quality and luxury yarns which have been carefully selected from independent producers from around the UK and beyond. As each new surprise arrives, you will be introduced to the talented folks who have grown, spun, produced, dyed, designed or sourced it.

My first order should arrive in Stonehaven this week and comes from a wonderful lady whom I first met when she introduced herself and her wonderfully rustic products to me at Perth Festival of Yarn. I knew right away they were an example of exactly what I wanted to showcase at Baa! Of course, I cannot yet reveal the details as this will come in the next post, but, to keep you in suspense, here is a little clue…
