If you’re after a 100% wool yarn for an aran jumper knitting pattern this winter, Istex Lettlopi is it. Spun from Icelandic wool, this aran-weight yarn is proper woolly, rustic, and so wonderfully warm that even a Scottish winter will be a breeze.
Lopi yarns are brilliant for all those hardy, outdoorsy, weather-proof knits, whether you’re walking the dog every morning or hiking around the Scottish highlands, or embarking on the glorious scenic walks we have around here in Stonehaven. Lettlopi is ideal for knitting colourwork jumpers that still fit under your coat, and ‘cause it’s so grippy, it’s a dream for knitting patterns with steeking too.
It’s a 100% wool yarn that blooms beautifully after blocking and only gets better and softer with washing and wear. Léttlopi is the little sister to the chunky Álafosslopi, but if you fancy venturing into chunky knits, you can hold it double – just make sure to swatch to check your gauge first!
